Project Planning Ltd

Distributor Road (£100M)

Our client initially required the support of a planner to develop a programme from the very early stages of this £100M plus distributor road in the Midlands.  The team required someone to work with the local authority (our client’s client) to understand the programme and associated risks.  This phase required in-depth understanding of the statutory undertakers’ requirements and incorporation of a substantial archaeological programme of works.

As drawings were released, Project Planning produced the detailed programme from first principles by taking the quantities off the drawings and liaising with local authorities to ensure the project could be constructed in accordance with acceptable traffic management constraints.

When Stage 2 was awarded, we were retained to secure the acceptance of the Clause 31 programme and to maintain the Clause 32 programmes.  The relationship that had been built with the end client’s team meant that the programme acceptance was straight forward.

As with all projects, change was encountered and works re-sequenced where required.  When change was due to a Compensation Event we explained the effect of the change and any mitigating actions with the use of text and diagrams.  This approach allowed Compensation Events to be successfully implemented.

We received the following feedback from our client:

“I’ve just had glowing feedback again… His communication, approachability and ability to problem solve have left the client feeling continuously happy to work with him. “

This was the second set of such feedback, showing the consistent satisfaction of our client and their client too.
